When setting up a Cloud Connector for the Ecolab Remote Equipment Monitoring (REM) system, you'll need to select an optimal location for installation, claim the device in the Ecolab KitchenIQ™ app, and confirm connectivity.

To edit Remote Monitoring settings, you must have the "Edit REM" permission. For more information on different role permissions visit Edit Role Permissions.

Plan Cloud Connector Placement

  1. Choose a central location for the Cloud connector
    • High on a shelf, wall, or ceiling
    • Near an electrical outlet (within 5 ft)
    • Preferably near an exterior wall or window
  2. Avoid placing the Cloud Connector:
    • On metal or stainless steel surfaces
    • Near electrical panels or conduits

This is a temporary location for the Cloud Connector while sensors are added to your equipment. DO NOT MOUNT the Cloud Connector at this time. Final mounting of the Cloud Connector to a wall or ceiling will happen after sensors are in place and reporting data.

Connect to Power

  1. Plug the power adapter into the Cloud Connector and a working outlet
  2. Wait 3-4 minutes for the device to activate
  3. Watch the LED light on the Cloud Connector:
    • Pulsing White - Connecting/Updating, this can take up to a few minutes
    • Solid White - Connected to the internet and fully operational
    • Solid Red - No connection to the internet via cellular data, or that the Cloud Connector hasn't been added in the app. Make sure that the Cloud Connector has been added to the app for at least 30-60 minutes. If the red light persists, see Cloud Connector Offline for troubleshooting.
