Creating a checklist in the portal allows users to build and manage structured checklists using reusable questions from the Question Repository, organized into sections for easy execution.
To create a Checklist, you must have the "Manage Checklist Templates" permission. For more information on different role permissions visit Edit Role Permissions
Create a Checklist
- Navigate to the Ecolab KitchenIQ™ website
- Click on Checklists in the left side menu
- Click on Create Checklist
- Click the pencil icon next to Untitled Checklist to name your checklist
- See steps below to add and remove questions or organize your checklist with sections. If you do not wish to do so, click Create to save your checklist.
Add Questions
- Drag and drop questions from the question repository on the left to include in your checklist
- If you need to create a new question, click the + icon in the top right of the Question Repository. See How to Create Question.
- Turn on/off the required toggle for each question
- If turned on, the checklist cannot be completed until the question is completed
- Click and drag to change the order the questions

Remove Questions
- Click the red - icon
- The question will be removed from the checklist
Add a Section
- Click + Add Section
- Click on the pencil icon to enter a name for the section
- Type the section title and click Save
- Click and hold on a question to drag and drop it into a section
Remove a Section
- Click the trashcan icon on the section you want to remove

Confirm deletion of the section.
- The section and all questions contained in the section will be removed from the checklist
Duplicate a Section
- Click the duplicate icon on the section you want to duplicate
- Enter a name for your new section
- Click Duplicate
- This will create a copy of the section and all the question contained in the section
Rename a Section
- Click the pencil icon on the section you want to rename
- Enter a new name for your new section
- Click Save
Save and Create the Checklist
- Review your Checklist, then click Create in the top right corner
- You will automatically return to the checklist menu, and your newly created checklist will appear at the top of the list
