Waste Settings

Managing food waste efficiently is essential for cost control and sustainability. Customize your Waste settings to track, edit, and organize waste products, areas, and categories with ease!

To edit Waste information, your role must have the "Manage Waste" permission. For more information on different role permissions visit Edit Role Permissions

Navigate to Waste

  1. From the Menu, tap Waste
  2. Tap on the 3 dots in the top right corner
  3. Tap Settings

Create Waste Products

  1. Tap the 3 dots in the top right corner
  2. Tap Create Product, then enter the item information
    • Enter the Name, Waste Area, Category, Measurement Type, Cost, Weight, and toggle on Donation Item (if applicable)
  3. Tap Save

Edit or Delete Waste Products

  1. Under Products, find/search for the product you would like to edit or delete and tap it to open its details
  2. Adjust the Name, Category, Measurement Type, Cost, Weight, and Active/Donation toggles as needed
  3. Tap Save

Cost: Adjustment will modify the dollar amount wasted for each product; Weight: Adjustment will modify weight calculations for each product; Active: Adjustment will either show or hide this product for your store

To Delete a Waste Product:

  1. Tap Delete Product
  2. Confirm Deletion

Create Waste Areas

  1. To view current areas, tap Areas
  2. Tap the 3 dots in the top right corner
  3. Tap Create Waste Area, then enter the item information
    • Enter the Name and select a color
  4. Tap Save

Edit or Delete Waste Areas

  1. To view current areas, tap Areas
  2. Under Areas, find the area you would like to edit or delete and tap it to open its details
  3. Adjust the name or color as needed
  4. Tap Save

To Delete a Waste Area:

  1. Tap Delete Area
  2. Confirm Deletion

Create Categories

  1. Tap Categories
  2. Tap Create Category
  3. Enter the Category name
  4. Tap Save

Edit or Delete Categories

  1. Tap Categories
  2. Under Categories, find the category you would like to edit or delete and tap on it
  3. Adjust the name as needed
  4. Tap Save

To Delete a Category:

  1. Tap the X to the right of the category you wish to delete
  2. Confirm Deletion
